Translated that means, the Tsunami of 245i and Backlog labours is hitting, there can be no movement until this improves.
In other words, absent legislative action to allow more visas, you are lucky if dates do not retrogress.
We should stop following bulletins and focus more on lobbying.

Thanks KS !! but is it a law or did they create their own rules ? I know I am day dreaming here ...but if they were to push (the worst category) EB3 - I in this case so that it is somewhere in 2003 then it would make their system look better ..i.e. instead of giving people a chance to say that USCIS is broken they could say ..people will get GC's in 4 -5 years time. (whereas now people can say ..you have to wait for 8 years to get a GC).

I think that people are talking about a combination of things that makes a contry attractive. Chicago is cold, but that's just one of the many live cities in the US. You have options here.

Guys thinking of moving to Canada - i have one advise. Try to work there for a short time - maybe 6 months and then see if you really want to immigrate to Canada. (Maybe as a consultant)
It is a beautiful country, no doubt. But opportunities, racial tolerance, good standard of living etc, all need to be considered while making such an important decision of one's life. Immigrating for reasons other than above is going to back-fire and a lot of lost-time and heart-breaks.
I have said this earlier and am saying it again - our home-country should rank much higher in our priorities than going to a country other than the US. I have been living in the US for a long time, worked in Canada for enough time to offer such advises.

Unfortunately, this will require change in Law and is not an Admin Fix
I request everybody to add one line in the letter for Consular processing filers as they should be allowed to get AC21 and EAD facilities now. This law came earlier only for 485 filers because CP process was fast but now due to retrogession all CP filers are waiting for Years and in the worst sitauation as 485 filers are enjoying their freedom with AC21 and EAD
Immmigration Voice I'll appreciate if you could add this agenda in you campaign letter.

I do have copy of labor approval but I donot have copy of job description that they filed for labor. I also have copy of 140 approval.
I don't think I can get letters from HR (there are couple of people who handles everything from getting timesheets to posting payslips) as they very loyal to my employer.
Then I guess my only options are
- give it a try to file through another attorney with paystubs and without employer letter.
- forget about $5000 and proceed.

People who got loans even though they do not have the 'prime' credit rating and paid zero down payment are the ones who are walking away from their houses. These foreclosed houses can be anywhere and probably in better locations than not, as their prices would not have precipitously climbed during 2003-2006 crazy years.

With 12 million foreclosed homes, say 6 million are in good areas and with 500K immigrants in line, perhaps buying 250K houses, its about 4% of the foreclosure market. Now tell me, how can that help the economy?

I still don't get it. There are around 300k AOS applications now pending. Given that there are only 10k EB based green cards for India, and I am sure there are more applications than 10k for FY2008 and still Visa bulletin for Oct indicates a date of Apr 2004. Should it not be "U" for the entire FY2008?

I - 485 is your application. Employer has control of your application until I - 140. All you need from employer is employment verification letter.
If you have a good lawyer, then you can do it together. Take legal advice. This is just my opinion.

I think initially due to rush the NSC sent apps to CSC because either the person's residence was in CA or Lawyer, In my case my lawyer is based in LA, CA. But now CSC is trasferring back the 485 apps to NSC where the 140 is being filled (or may be there is some other criteria). I am waiting for the EAD and AP approvals and FP notice.

I sent my application on 29th Sept 2010 and have not heard anything yet.
Most of the times I can't get hold of anyone and when I do they keep saying that they are not ready yet! That's very helpful!
God forbid if I have to leave the country due to any emergency, what the heck will I do then?
Sorry didn't want to bore you with this, but what or who did you contact at the embassy?
I can't get hold of anyone at all?

NY consulate is even worst than others. After a month of trying to reach them regarding my passport application, they told me they never received my application nor my passport. I had to sent them shipping tracking info and eventually they found my application sitting in a drawer. Never bother to opened it till than. I had to go through some higher level rank person to get my case resolved. The customer rep. phone is always busy, never able to get a hold.. I don't have to visit them for next 10 years,,,, thank GOD..
