Trust me my friend, I have seen it happen all the time, from large Telecom firm to Govt., its always there, most of the consultants just doesn't come to know about it, but the cut for the managers is there in some form, almost always. Why do each manager has a specific vendor through whom they want to hire most of the time? What else is the reason for the client to pay the consulting company $180/hr but they won't give 'valueablehurdle' anything more than $50-60/hr?
On a different note, now that NSG approved the waiver, most desi uncles, some of them are also owners of desi consulting companies will claim that they are the father of Nuclear deal. These bastards (sorry for my french) always oppose any GC fix and they tell their favorite congressman/senator (each has atleast one favorite politician for whom they do fund raisers) that gc backlog is not an important issue for the community. India Abroad, Times of India, rediff and other desi portals/newspapers will write 'Oliver North' style stories about these desi uncles knowing well that companies like GE etc put their weight behind the deal as it will create commerce to commerce over $20 billion/yr. But desi uncles/orgs will not stop claiming to be the father of nuclear deal. The fact is, most of these desi uncles made noise not because they wanted to do something for their country of birth, they are doing it because they think that if the nuclear deal passes, they can play middle man for US companies to sell the technology/material to Indian companies/govt. Most of the so called 'united voice of Indian-Americans on the Hill' organization's goal is to make big bucks by playing 'middle man' for companies wanting to sell technology to India. And as always, just as 'valuablehurdle''s client (paying $180/hr) Indian govt. will pay double the cost. These desi companies have squeezed blood of people waiting for gc, but now they think its time to move on to play big game with the big boys. These desi uncles/orgs are going nuclear.... time for Rediff and India Abroad to play Oliver North. Sometimes the line between capitalism and cycle of corruption is extremely blur. The problem is, these desi uncles/orgs claim to be representatives of entire Indian-American community, sometimes the entire immigrant community. They don't know more than 100 people, but they claim to be the leaders of all 2.5 million indian americans. this whole thing sucks. USCIS cannot adjudicate even I-131 on time. We have booked our travel tickets after 100 days of Received date of AP renewal application and looks like we have to cancel our tickets and waste $1800. This really blows and its attrocity to the core that USCIS cannot process AP renewals inside 90 days time period and its a shame that they are not answerable to anyone.

This bill if and when passed would let anyone in the US apply for an AOS.

This is just a rebranded version of something the dems were interested last time round.

I sincerely doubt this measure passing, where anyone living in this country within the time span of 5 years can apply for permanent residency. However I seriously believe, there will be some final modifications on this bill.
Either way, we all IV members should be happy, something good is about to come for all EB members. I understand the economy is in a bad situation, however for Obama to create more jobs, high skilled immigration plays a vital role.

When i checked my status online, i saw that there was a LUD on my pending case on 10/7 and 10/8. Wondering there is a LUD, I called the NSC and the person on the phone told me that the case is being reviewed by an officer.
My question is that if there are no numbers available, then why would there be a LUD on the case status. So has anyone else seen a LUD on their cases as recently as after Oct 1, 2008????

I am in the same boat and my employer has decided that they will revoke I-140 no matter what. Can you tell me how did you find out that your employer revoked your I-140. Maybe he/they did not. But my firm is really big and they go by the rules. So I just want to know whenever employer sends the revocation, does USCIS always revoke or it is upto their discretion whether or not to revoke. Problem is I do not have a job yet so I cannot even file for AC21.

Hello all,
Here is my status
I am currently using H1(3 year extension since I140 was filed) and wife is using EAD. And I also have EAD and approved I140. I have filed for my I-485 (2005 PD) with my current company in Midwest in July 2007.
I have an offer from a company in California. Is it OK to accept the offer.
1. Does it matter if I change the geographical region
2. Also my field of work does not change. Only thing that might change is my increased roles and responsibilities and my designation for example from Senior Staff Engineer(Company X) to Principal Staff Engineer (company Y)
I would like to know if Would be in trouble or if my GC would be in trouble having waited from 1997(F1) until now.

It is getting clear now why Legal Backlogs are not touched in this present Bill.
Because Home Land Security Dep budgets depend on them..If backlogs are gone .. Budget is gone ...

One filed, it is the application ND that takes priority. For example, if there are two EB2 applications, and the PD for the two are Aug 2002 and Aug 2004, and the ND for these two are June 2006 and Jan 2006 respectively, the applicaiton with ND of Jan 2006 gets priority, provided both PD are current.

Hey! sorry, i did not mean to judge your situation... all i was thinking is that... hmm.. he works for this company... no he does not.. he works for himself... no but he has an arrangement with that company... so i did not really understand and for a minute i thought it was not a sound thing to do (at least for me)... even i had many questions of very legalese nature... i did ask a lawyer to see me for an hour or two... he went over all my papers and advised me about it... took $200 for that piece... $200 well spent i think.

Hello,
I am new to this site and had a question about the Nov. bulletin that maybe someone might be able to answer. I am EB3 ROW and I am still not able to submit my I-140 + I-485 concurrently by 5 days (my PD is July 5, 2002).
Do you expect the EB3 ROW dates to move forward at all in the Dec. bulletin?
I just need to know because my lawyer is pressuring me to submit my I-140 not concurrently, but I wondered if I just should wait for a month.

Dates for Eb2 india will touch early 2005. And dates will not move back from that point for rest of year. Of course it will move forward again in Aug 2009 bulletin.
