Hi Friends,
I am really sick and tired of my attorney. He is making money out of immigrants but he does not like immigrants based on our dicussion.
I think we are very well educated and can easily take care of 485 filing.
My attorney will charge me at least $3000 for it although I got his referral from AILA. On top of that he delays filing my PERM and 140 and having serious attitude problem.
I can easily take care of 485 filing by myself.
My only and great concern is- Is my attorney can screw up my GC processing if I fire him and file 485 on my own?

I doubt that the lawyer would purposely hurt a former client. Its not just unethical, its really malpractice. And its not like lawyers done get fired and they cant handle getting fired.
However, please do make sure that you have all documents that you need to do your own 485 filing. If there are some documents like 140 approval or other stuff that only he has, then you will have to get it out of him, which he just might delay (a little) in case if he is an absolute nut job.
For me, I dont care what the lawyer thinks of immigrants as long as the job is done in a TIMELY manner without mistakes. If he hates immigrants and votes for Jeff Sessions, I dont care about it. All I want is TIMELINESS and ERROR FREE job. After that, he can hate anyone he wants and stick pins in voodoo dolls of immigrants.

One way to end his mis-information is to make a list of the companies who advertise on his show. After that we need to communicate with these companies about the lies he spews on his show and also threaten to boycott all their products, if they continue to sponsor his show.

May I ask you the reason for 4 year gap for I-140 filing? Are you using Labor Substitution?

If it is not mistake you are thinking as Conspiracy. What is the motive of conspiracy? What I am telling is making all PD current was mistake as everyone will expect atleast 300k I485 applications and that many Visa was not available. They made another mistake to correct previous mistake. There is no pro or anti immigrant stand is needed to evaluate this. I do not believe conspiracy theories. Even 9/11 attack also so many conspiracy thories are there. Unless we get some evidence everything is speculative only

What if the USCIS suddenly realized that they can make more money in August due to the fee change? So someone in dept had a brainwave thinking - why not move back the dates in July and move forward again for the August bulletin??

Is there any provision in any of the upcomming immigration bills that allows for "Ability to file for I485 even with visa number unavailability.". I know that
some of the provisions in Hagel (S. 1916, 1917, 1918, & 1919) Specter (unnumbered draft) bills have provisions for removal of numerical limits on adjust of status for people who have an advanced degree from US.
But is there any provision in any of the immigration bills which allows for "Ability to file for I485 even with visa number unavailability." like the one that was in s 1932. This would be easy to pass as Green card numbers would stay the SAME and no major modification is done to the existing law

I just switched from Teleblend to Vonage. This is the first time and don't have any experience with them. I talked with them yesterday and their customer service is connected immediately and they are good (for now atleast). I was a lingo customer long back (before sunrocket) and their customer service is horrible. I tried to switch to lingo when Sunrocket was closed and had a bad experience with customer service rep that time too. I decided not to go with lingo ever (what every offer they have). I may consider go back to teleblend, if they have a good deal OR any problem with Vonage.

you can't travel out of USA.
If you file for I-485 (and EAD), but no AP, I was told by my attorney that you have to stay in US till you get receipt ( possilbly - your filing is incomplete, deficient etc- so you need to be here to make it complete - if you want faster filing).
Anybody else heard the same?

In my opinion it is very naive to think that USCIS/DOL just realized that they had 'misinterpreted' the law. ..... The ambiguity of the law for the preference of vertical vs. horizontal spill-over allowed them to do that.
In a couple of my previous posts I copied the relevant Sections (Sec. 202 and 203) of the INA which specifically states that distribution should be preferentially horizontal. Both Sections should be read together.
Please note that there is no ambiguity in the law and DOS may just have taken too long to change the US Code or other relevant section of their rules.
I will definitely be willing to change my interpretation if you can show where the ambiguity in the law lies. I'm definitely not a lawyer so it's quite possible that I'm missing some clause in the law.

When I call through vonage phone, the wireless internet connection to other computers is getting lost. Is this the problem others have too?
Is it having another router in between your vonage phone and cable /DSL connection solve the problem?
