Guys this is a revision to the July Visa Bulletin. Meaning, even if the revision happens on July 29th to the July Visa Bulletin, it holds good for entire july.
This is not August bulletin.
Looks like people have misconception, that if their file goes to USCIS on July 2nd and visa bulletin is revised on July 3rd or later date, then they are safe. It is not so.
If at all if there is a change to the August bulletin it holds good for August and not to July bulletin.

The more likely scenario is that DOS will send a notification to the USCIS that all visa numbers have been exhausted and then it will be upto USCIS to decide what to do. I that case USCIS will most likely accept all applications received up to that point- Same thing happened last month for EB-3 Other workers!

I'm not sure whether USCIS ever *appologized* per say but the second paragraph from the link above supports my earlier argument that the new spill-over policy (which in my personal opinion is more rational) is not a random, ad hoc decision by USCIS but rather a careful one after consulting congress etc.
This is not a proof that DOS apologized. Ron Gotcher is a good lawyer but what he mentioned on his blog cann't be used in court. Anyways, thanks.

Guys, i have been trying to find some information on this but i can't seem to find any thing relevant.
I have been in the US since 2001. I came in on a F1 and then moved to a H1 and then my employer filed for my greencard and i now have an EAD and AP that is employment based. My last entry into the US was based on my AP.
I recently got married and my wife is a US citizen. I was wondering if it makes sense to apply for a family based AOS concurrently since the employment based AOS takes a long time to be processed. If this possible? and if so how do i go about doing this?
My apologies if this topic has already been covered, i tried searching the forums but could not find any similar topics.
Appreciate the help.

Thanks for the replies fellas, this isn't a renewal I am talking about. This is the first time I have applied for an EAD. BTW, does anyone know what's involved in converting from H4 to EAD status i.e.
1. Do you need to apply for SSN before you take a job offer?
2. EAD by itself is enough to accept employment?
3. Can you take jobs/resign as and when you please or do you have to somehow get back to H4 status if you quit job on EAD?
4. Does use of EAD by H4, change non-immigrant status of H1 worker?

No disrespect to Al-Jazeera. But putting our story on that channel is not a good idea. People view anything on it with lot of suspicion, and Fox news interprets everybody Al-Jazeera sympathizes with as you know what.
Don't come after me for saying this, its not my opinion. But general opinion that I have observed from people who are not well informed(read majority of people). Lets focus on the main stream media in US, outside coverage is not that significant anyway.

Sorry for using this thread, i was not sure where to post this mesage and did not want to start a new thread.
I just learnt from my lawyer that he submitted my I-485 aplication one day before my medical reports reached him. Basically he filed with out the medical reports. Will USCIS reject my aplication?He is saying it is allowed?
You should be fine, one of the latest FAQs says you can file without medical report.

Second: They will laugh at you (that's what is taking place. Instead of accepting the mistake and offering an apology, USCIS has only issued a statement about forwarding flowers to Army Medical Center)
Third: They fight with you (I guess that's what they are gonna do in the court)
Fouth: Finally you win.
So stay tuned guys ...... victory is not far away!!
BTW whether or (as someone said, more likely) not we are strictly following Gandhian principles, I am sure he would have been unhappy for people who opt for inaction as opposed to any peaceful means of protest.

Yup, that was my point - both are greedy :)....so no point blaming any 1 party. And agree with you that foreclosure is only an option if you 'really' can't pay your monthly dues and that too for a sustained period of time - if one has the money to pay the monthly mortgage, one should continue to pay it off even if the asset value as plummeted to rock bottom because that is what you have singed in for - the amount of loan you took out to buy that house. No excuse from that!

I am in a similar situation. I applied just 95 days before. My lawyer "forgot" and I applied in a rush in the end. I am hoping it will not be a problem.
My understanding is that you will remain in status even if you do not have EAD or AP. However you cannot work.
I have a meeting with my lawyer on wednesday. I will be asking her about this. I am hoping for peace of mind that this does not become an issue.
I checked with somebody in the forum like you and he got it in 2 and 1/2 months. I checked in the USCIS web site. It says you have to apply 6 months in advance. I did not know about this since I got it in a month last year when my case was in CSC.

I have vonage service since two years and i am paying 24.99/m since two years for unlimited US, canada and europe. They just added india in the international calling list so isn't it free? I am not paying anything extra for calling to india. I have been with vonage for quality and it is personal choice about which service you use and how much you pay for that. It all depends on usage and how much we spend on calling cards or calls to india. If you spend more than $25 on calling to india than this is a great plan if you have internet connection at home.

Due to the pending caseload at NSC, the processing time of your I485 application has been extended. Allow extra time for an officer to review your application. Furthermore if all intial evidence was not included with your application or a question arose during adjudication that required a RFE additional time would be needed.
Your application remains awaiting review by an Officer and you will be notified as soon as decision is made. The service is waiting for VISA availability

Every 485 applicant needs to submit birth certificate. If in regional language then get it translated in english. I dont know any place/person for translation, but you would need to submit english version.
Do we need the Birth Certificate for secondary applicants(spouse).
None of the checklist(Employer based I-485) I have been thru say that I need the secondary applicants Birth certificate.
My spouses Birth certificate is in a regional language, and hence the question.
