When you started the process, you might have authorized your attoreny to represent you. I am not sure what the form you signed, but it should be similar to G28. Revoke this authrorization in writing with anothor from( Dunno what itis called)
Otherwise, he could revoke your 140 or labor etc as he represents on your behalf. I read this somewhere.
I doubt that the lawyer would purposely hurt a former client. Its not just unethical, its really malpractice. And its not like lawyers done get fired and they cant handle getting fired.
However, please do make sure that you have all documents that you need to do your own 485 filing. If there are some documents like 140 approval or other stuff that only he has, then you will have to get it out of him, which he just might delay (a little) in case if he is an absolute nut job.

Guys, Are we sure that Fedex will not deliver on saturday or sunday, what will happen if they deliver, nobody will be at USCIS to accept right, so it will still be opened only on monday ?

I agree the numbers seem to include dependents. I mean while looking at EB2 numbers you can see average 1000 - 1500 applications per month which translates to roughly 400 - 700 primary applications (labor) filed each month. That looks reasonable.

I cannot ask my colleagues to sepnd 30 minutes on phone, but I can certainly ask them to send e-mails. They helped me during admin-fix letter campaign and they are all US citizens.

i wanted to share that i have recd by email confirmation regarding the GC production from USCIS (Aug 18).
I was, in fact, waiting for my fingerprinting notice - since my last one was couple of years old. My lawyer had written to USCIS to review the case and requested to send us a FP notice.
But what i got was GC production email for both me and my wife. My journey on H1b that started on Nov 99 has finally ended!!!:)

And you did not understand that this is a way for the lawyer to advertise himself.
He may have seen many people worried about this issue on IV and he wrote on his site . Now you are becoming his agent and posting on this site. This is not a news. It is only a comment. It can be true/partially true or partially false.
To me this issue is a non issue for which IV is working and this lawyer is blowing out of proportion. Only handful of people got denials and that too because their Desi employer acted in revenge for them leaving the company.
I am not an agent, but one of the victim and looking for solutions. This may not be issue for you, but issue for many of us. I am sure you think your issue is important than others and I don't complain.. But this an issue..
Again whatever many be the reason, due to desi employer or USCIS we suffer and we are on the hook all the time..

I raised an SR on 8/25/2009. I got a response that my "case was being actively processed, allow 60 days for a decision to be made". I kept calling uscis, every CSR told me the same thing "wait until Oct 25, and then raise another SR". I got the CPO email on 10/22.
As I mentioed in the previous posts, though I tried Senator, Ombudsman, calls thru my lawyer, I beleive that SR is the one that makes the IOs take a case out of a whole bunch and keeps it in the queue for approval.

I am applying for AOS on a EB basis. My wife will apply along with me as a beneficiary. Unfortunately she worked on H1B for another company without notifying USCIS and on a different job capacity. What are the chances for her I485 to be denied? Do we have to mention that in I485 form. She is currently on H4 and is not working. Thanks.

Some IV members were in DC at USCIS building yesterday (Tuesday, July 10th, 2007) from 10 AM to 1 PM. There were reporters there including CNN-IBN and Voice of America (Aaj Tak chanel) with video cameras. We saw the deliveries of flowers being made by UPS and FedEx. The DHL guy told the flowers were already delivered in the morning in the big truck. The security guards at the loading dock of USCIS were not allowing Video Shooting after the reporters shot the UPS deliveries going inside. When the FedEx tuck came in, they made him park right near the Loading Gate and were trying to cover up by parking two other vans each side of that truck so nobody can shoot the delivery.
Then IV members went inside the USCIS building from the main gate to hand deliver the flowers with Get Well Soon ballon and card for Emilio Gozales. Teh Video cameras followed until the security guard asked them to stop the recording as they didn't have prior approval. The security guards, receptionists and people around were smiling by seeing the flowers for Gonzales. They let the IV members proceed towards the visitor area. Where another secuirity guard asked who the delivery was for and directed to one of the Gonzales's secretaries, Rachel, who accepted the flowers. There were people around her. Rachel said to them "This is creepy, as far as I know he ain't sick, we received flowers last week, they were pretty too. Yesterday someone sent him cookies. This is some kind of peaceful protest". Then she also read the card in front of IV members. IV members asked her about the website update which says they are sending these flowers to Walter Reed. She said yes, we are doing that. IV members thanked her and left the building.
On the other side, the reporters with cameras were asking for approval to shoot inside. They made them wait and then several people (from different level of securityty to management) came to talk with them and finally said they can not allow to shoot for security reasons. I received a similar response to the 2nd SR. I was told that my case was under additional review and to allow them 60 days. However, my wife's case had been assigned to an officer for review.
Did you send an email to TSC.Ncscfollowup@dhs.gov (for TSC - another email for NSC). I had no clue where my application was when even 2006 cases were getting approved. I am seeing some movement after emailing them.
Did you get a response after you sent the e-mail? What movement do you see on your case?

Guess what my name got missed in this list too. No surprise for USCIS to skip my July 2 filing case :)-

Issuing receipts and sending checks for processing may be with different group of people. It is all speculation. At this point, I don't think approaching a politician could be helpful - it is still within 90 days as USCIS said they need.

This is what I did I sent the bill text to my friends (L1 and H1) and explaning them that this Bill is equally bad for us both and let their employer knows and act against to it...

What's ridiculous about it? Their website say's that you can call any number in India ( land line or cellular ) for free and unlimited time. It clearly says - * Calls to cellular phones included.

If companies could survive with GCs and Citizens alone, they would have done it already. The fact is there aren't enough quality resources to be picked from GC/Citizen pool. That is the reason companies are willing to deal with complex immigration laws for hiring a non-immigrant worker.
Of course companies will look for cheaper and easier ways of doing things.( outsourcing route) I agree with puddonhead that threshold for outsourcing is low in these times. Vast majority of outsourcing was initiated during the last recession ( 2000- 2001).

Hello Everyone
We had our visa interview for H1-H4 stamping on Jan 29 in Mumbai Consulate as my hubby had changed his employer and also applied for the 3 year extension.The VO asked him questions about his job,company,profile ,etc and told us the visa was approved and we will get it in mail the next day.We got our passports with new visas the next day.I don;t know about others in our line cause we were the first one's there.
Am not sure how the PIMS thing works if it is for every one or only some ppl.
All the best to all you guys ,apologies I could'nt post this earlier as I retunred from India only some days back

Nice to know the film makers comment about our campaign. How about contacting them to get the hundreds of DVDs of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' and send them to Walter Reed where flowers are going? Just a vague thought, I am sure someone else also mentioned similar thing earlier.
